NIYAMA (नियम )
This is the second step of ashtang yoga. As in the last post we have seen the first step is yamaah, and the niyama is the next one.IN the texts ti describes as-
saucha-santosa-tapah-
svadhyayesvarapranidhanani
niyamaah.
purity contentment, austerity, self study, and self surrendernnnconstitute observances.
There are five Niyamah.
1) soucha external and internal purification.
2) santosha contenment.
3) tapah To make right efforts to achieve goals.
4) swadhyaya to study authentic texts and religious scriptures and aquire correct knowledge of self and the supreme divinity.
5) ishwar pranidhan complete surrender to the divine soul.
Maharishi patanjali describes details of each and every stage in brief in his book. This book is a land mark for all the Yoga followers. In this book he proclamaimed we all are the part of this great universe and there is a divine relation between one and the supreme soul what we called mother nature or prakrity or the all mighty GOD'
To practice yoga gradually leads us towards this all mighty supreme soul. This is the essence of yoga. This is the journey of external to internal and internal to eternal. So let"s find ourselves.
