As we have seen the "Ashtang Yoga" in the last post. they are the eight limbs of yoga or the steps we can call. Now we are going to see a brief information about thses steps. one more thing i would like to tell you the first five steps are called as "Bhahiranga Yoga" while the rest of three are called as Antarang Yoga.
YAMAH " ahinsa satyaasteya
bramacharyaparigraha yamah "
The practice of yamah leads to purity of body and mind. the practice of yamah with steadiness leads to self control and concentration. Yamah has five sub parts they as---
1 ) Ahinsa (Not to harm others)
2 ) Satya (To be truthful)
3 ) Asteya (Not to steal)
4 )Bramhacharya (Celebacy)
5 )Aparigraha (Not to possess beyond the actual needs)
Here we can see maharshi patanjali focus on the purity of body and mind, This is the base of yoga. One can not even touch the word Yoga without purification of body and mind. Here no is waching to you but you should be honest to yourself. As describes earlier yoga is the path towards attainment of super conscious state beyond sensory perception. This deals with the physical, mental, moral, and spiritual well being of individual. One must mentally ready for this.
Another defination of Yoga by maharshi Patanjali is
"yogah chitta vrtti nirodhah" which means Yoga is a process of gaining control over the mind. And by practising one can reach to the "Tada drashtuh swarupe avasthanam." one can attain his\her original state if one goes through the path of Yoga.
