DHARANA
THIS is the six step or limb os Ashtang yoga,It took lots of time to come on the page, as iwas not satisfied whatever i wanted to share. How easy it was to copy and paste, but my moral did not allow me to do the same. its O.K.
Dharana is fixing the mind on a single object or thought. Internally mind can be focused on the charas and externally mind can be focused on any image or photo of any Devata (God), deep breathing helps in focusing the mind. As thoughts are constantly disterbing. just ignore them and try to focus on the selected thought.

Concentration is the confining of the mind within a limited area (object of concentration).
According to swami Sivananda " Having controlled the prana through pranayama and indriyas through pratyahara one should try to fix the mind on something called as exdharana.
Dharana leads one to be free from distractions of mind.
During the time of dharana one identified oneself . this The original state of mind is full of calmness, happiness and more understanding, To enhance this beautiful feeling one has to go through only.
There is a lotus with eight petals focused below the heart. Inhale and throw the breath,this exhalation will turn the lotus petals upwards. One has to imagine the beautiful and mind fragrance, try to smell. There is a effulgent light inside the lotus.
The Shushumna or the Bramha nadi passes through this lotus. Dharnana is the state of mind which is free from desire for object or the steadiness of mind .Practising dharana leads one to glimpses of unity. One can practice this in day to day life. if you are eating, just do not read or brouse on internet. If walking only enjoy walking, don"t talk with friends on phone.
