ACNE VULGARIS(Pimples and blackheads):

Acne is a skin condition that occurs when your hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells. Commonly spoken of as pimples, acne is characterised by hyperkeratosis, blockade of orifices, and inflammation of the sebaceous glands leading to papules and pustules. These lesion are present on face, back, chest and shoulders. Scarring occurs after the rupture of the pustules. Acne is a common problem of adolescence and occurs due to androgen oral contraceptives and in case of Cushing’s syndrome:

Stimulation:

Mild electric simulation for 25-35minutes daily for 8-15 days and the course may be repeated after 7 days.

Note:

1. Patient should be advised a low fat diet.

2. Face should be thoroughly rubbed and washed at least 2 to 3 times a day.
